what i think this quote means is that choosing the right isnt always the popular way to do it but if you stand for what is right when it is unpopular it shows that you are a loyal and good person with moral characters. choosing the right isn't always going to make you look good but inside your personality will be great because you choose the right even if you know you would get made fun of or teased. for example if someone chooses to not steal something when everyone is stealing something, you don't care if everyone is doing and you choose the right even if you know that they'd make fun of you.
